Central Sparks take part in their second Edgbaston double-header as they take on Lancashire Thunder in the penultimate home Charlotte Edwards Cup match.

Central Sparks go into Friday's game sat fourth in the CEC table, knowing a win over Thunder will make their chances of reaching finals day all but confirmed.


After a huge win away against the South East Stars in Canterbury, Sparks took fate of qualification into their own hands with Sunday's three wicket win over the Stars. In the game, Em Arlott took her second professional hat-trick, while hitting the winning runs with the bat.


Overseas batter Courtney Webb played a blinder down south scoring (31) to guide Sparks to victory with captain Eve Jones. A good T20 runs so far has been held together by the character and quality shown by the side. Four wins gained so far, meaning a fifth could send Sparks through to the semi-finals.


The Opposition:


Lancashire Thunder play the first of their two remaining games at Edgbaston tomorrow, needing a win to keep their hopes of reaching finals day alive.


Having their most recent game against Western Storm rained off, Thunder sit fifth, two points behind Friday's hosts. Captain Ellie Threlkeld will know what a win for her side could do, but coming up against a potent Sparks bowling attack, her batters will need to be at the top of their game.


Bowler Tara Norris has been a standout for Thunder through the competition so far, too batter Seren Smale. Both with crucial contributions along the way.


Past Meetings:


Two weeks ago, Thunder crossed the line to beat Sparks at Emirates Old Trafford, but Sparks went to Manchester and took points home in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.


Team News:


Sparks will be boosted by the addition of England's Amy Jones, while having the same crop of players to select from.
