
The women's domestic summer calendar is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever, with Central Sparks set to play more fixtures in a season than ever before in 2023.
The Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy has doubled in size, with Sparks now playing 14 games in the competition and meeting each of their opponents twice - once at home and once away. The bumper tournament will finish with the final at Wantage Road on 24th September.
The Charlotte Edwards Cup shifts to a round robin format with each team meeting once. Playoffs and the final will be hosted at one of Sparks' home grounds, New Road, on the 10th June.
2023 also sees Central Sparks add two new home venues to its ranks. Moseley Cricket Club, which hosted international teams as a training venue during the Commonwealth Games, and the stunning Wormsley Cricket will both host a Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy match. The rest of Sparks' home games will be played at Edgbaston, Portland Road and New Road.
Two of Sparks' home Charlotte Edwards Cup matches with double headers with the T20 Blast, with the Sparks playing alongside Worcestershire Rapids on 29th May and Birmingham Bears on 3rd June.
Central Sparks look to build upon their 2022 summer which saw them finish second in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and fifth in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
