EVE JONES: IT IS GREAT HAVING THEM BACK

Central Sparks captain Eve Jones admits it’s ‘great’ to have Georgia Davis, Grace Potts and Hannah Baker all back amongst first team training after being on tour with the England A squad.

After being selected and going to Oman for a training camp, Baker, Davis and Potts all returned to first team training with the Sparks this week.

Baker and Davis were involved in both the Oman training camp, which then followed with a selection for Baker to face India in an IT20 series. Alongside Baker, Issy Wong was also selected in the team, a series in which Sparks’ number 99 went on to pick up player of the series.

After a successful camp in Oman, Davis was added to the squad to face India with Kalea Moore of the South East Stars.

Wong is yet to return to training, but on the return of Baker, Davis and Potts, Jones said: “It is great to have them back, they bring a lot of energy to the group at training and away from it.

“It has been good to catch up with them on their time with England and the experiences they had there.”

With the busy first block of training now ending with Christmas round the corner, the trio join at the right time to get reacquainted with the group before training resumes in the new year.

Jones added: “Training has been a bit mad this week – we’re not always used to having so many people in but it’s great to have everyone back together.

“They’re three key players so they offer a lot to this side around the building.”

Having joined back up last Monday, Baker said: “The camp was enjoyable with England A, I learned a lot and had a good time being involved with the squad.”
