Central Sparks are delighted to announce that coach and former New Zealand international Dunce joins the Sparks as Assistant coach.
With her playing career seeing her play domestically for Wellington, Dunce also made 10 appearances for the New Zealand national side between 1996-97.
After plying her trade as a coach since retiring from playing, Dunce was recognised with the award for 'Outstanding Contribution and Services to Coaching,' at the New Zealand Cricket Awards.
Ahead of last season [2023], Dunce was with the Wellington Blaze as a support coach and has also worked with Berkhamstead school to coach their young female and male cricketers.
The phrase often used is that Dunce is all about 'seizing the opportunity,' and having gained experience coaching in England, she joins the Sparks for a second bite at the cherry in a move that will give Lloyd Tennant's staff another experienced-head to turn to.
The former left-arm bowler's first interaction with the Sparks first team has already happened after the Dunedin-born coach joined the squad out in Mumbai for their recent pre-season tour.
On the announcement, Dunce said: "I am really excited about the opportunity to be part of a fully professional women's team.
"I hope to bring a bit of kiwi influence to the team as we get ready for a big season."
