Central Sparks duo Amy Jones and Issy Wong have been awarded central contracts by England.
Alongside Jones and Wong, 16 other Women’s players have been given central contracts, with Vipers’ Maia Bouchier and Danielle Gibson of the Western Storm signing their first ones.
The contracts run for the next year, valid until 31 October 2024, and according to the ECB they provide significant structural improvements to meet player needs. Working closely with the Women’s player partnerships and the PCA, remuneration advancements include enhanced family provision and entitlement.
Both players were already on central contracts and have been granted the same again for 2023/24.
Jones has recently been playing for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League down under, while Wong became player of the series of England A’s tour where they beat India over three IT20’s. Wong scored (35*) and (28*) in two different games to guide England A to the series win in India.
