Meg Austin, Davina Perrin, and Charis Pavely will take part in a preparation group in January ahead of a tour in Sri Lanka.
Central Sparks’ trio Meg Austin, Davina Perrin and Charis Pavely have been selected as part of an England Women’s preparation group ahead of their tour of Sri Lanka to take on the hosts and Australia in a Tri Series (March 2024-April 2024).
Both T20 and 50-over formats will be played across the tour, with more details including dates and locations to be announced later. The preparation group will commence a series of winter camps in Loughborough in January before a reduced tour squad is announced after that.
As well as the squad, with some announcements made on the coaching front, Sparks’ Academy Head coach Darren Franklin will become assistant coach alongside Brisbane Heat’s Courtney Winfield-Hill. Head coach of The Blaze Chris Guest is named as Head coach for the tour of Sri Lanka.
Within the preparation phase group are several players who attended the inaugural ICC Women’s U19 World Cup in South Africa in January 2023 and who are still age eligible. They are joined by some players who are U19 for the 2024 season only and some players who will remain as U19 players for the second Women’s U19 World Cup in Malaysia in January 2025 and will be in contention for that programme later next year.
